Email - Using the Subject Line and Message Body

CAA Product Help

(HELP ?) Circles provide narratives on Training, Explanations, and Hints. These can be related to the overall screen, or to specific items on the screen.

You found the (HELP ?) Circle narrative for “Using the Message Body entry box” by clicking the (COMPREHENSIVE HELP ?) Circle on the “SEND EMAIL TO PRAYER PARTNERS” Screen in PrayerLink or any of the other screens related to “Emailing” that have this (COMPREHENSIVE HELP ?) Circle.

Before proceeding, please be sure you have previously clicked the (HELP ?) Circle that leads to the narrative on ”Overview and Basics: Using the Email Function”. Being familiar with the general information about the “SEND EMAIL TO PRAYER PARTNERS” Screen may be helpful to you.

The following information relates specifically to the “Subject Line” and “Message Box” for email and texting.

Using the “Subject Line” and “Message Box”

After building your distribution list in the “WHO GETS THIS EMAIL?” Window and entering a sender email address in the “YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS” Box, you are ready to enter your Subject and then the Body of your message in the boxes provided.

** Important:
The Message box described here is strictly a Plain Text entry area"it is not an HTML-style entry box. You cannot change the font style or size, or paste into it any photos or graphics unless you switch to the HTML-style message box. A separate [SWITCH TO HTML] Toggle Button is provided for that and is described in a separate (HELP ?) Circle narrative.

Why plain text only?:

This restriction helps to keep your message from appearing as spam to other email systems. There is less chance of your message being blocked from the intended recipients by their email service providers when the message is sent in a “harmless” Plain Text format.

What impact does “Plain Text” have as I prepare my message?:

URL’s & Hyperlinks:
If you type in URLs to websites, they will appear to you as Plain Text only. But don’t despair! When the message is sent, the system will convert them into imbedded hyperlinks for the recipient " so you CAN send your message with it containing links to other websites.

Fonts & Graphics:
If you want to use different fonts and graphics to spruce up your message, we suggest you create a separate document (Word or PDF, for example) and attach it. Then send the fancy message as an attached file. You can enter a simple Plain Text message asking the recipient to view the attachment for the information or details that you want to convey.
